Open! Open! Open!

National Sew A Jelly Roll Day 2019 is tomorrow! And we’re excited – we be Jelly Rollin’!

If you’re looking for a pattern for your Jelly Roll, we have ideas!

The Moda All-Stars were On A Roll with this book of Jelly Roll quilts –

You can read about the book here – On A Jelly Roll!

This is Maisy Daisies by Joanna Figueroa for Fig Tree & Co. (It’s in the book.)

You might also need Jelly Filled by Vanessa Goertzen – it’s brand-new and already a best-seller!

This is still my favorite quilt in the book because… Jen Kingwell fabrics.

You can read more about Jelly Filled here – Jelly Filled – Jelly Rolled!

It all starts with strips – so Start With Strips!

That’s the name of the book – Start With Strips – and it’s by Susan Ache – who has the best sense of color!

This is Train Tracks – super-scrappy and absolutely perfect!

We also shared some Jelly Roll patterns and quilts by Moda Designers – Jelly, Peanut Butter & Jelly Rolls.

Every shop that carries Moda Fabrics will have five shop-exclusive patterns for Jelly Rolls. Some will have kitted the patterns and others are giving the patterns to anyone who purchases a Jelly Roll.

We hope you have a great Friday and weekend – and that you’ll be doing just a bit of stitching… even if it’s not with a Jelly Roll.

But that would make it better.

  1. Just a random comment…next year if you “get” to come and teach at Quiltstock please come do a quilt class with your wonderful recipes!! You probably need to do a recipe card for JELLYrolls!!! Love all that you do girlie

  2. There will be four of us making jelly roll quilts tomorrow for jelly roll day. We’ll be having a virtual party and sewing in our own homes, posting progress throughout the day. We’ve picked out our patterns and our jelly rolls and are ready to have some fun. Thanks for sponsoring this again.

  3. I was so looking forward to Jelly Roll Day! But unfortunately I fell 2 weeks ago and fractured my right femur (yes the one I use to run the sewing machine with!) and I am non-weight bearing for 2 months. And I was right in the middle of sewing blocks for a quilt. They will be there when I get home and will get finished. Can’t wait to see all the beautiful creations shared. Makes the hospital stay go much faster! Enjoy your sewing day everyone!!

  4. Me and my friends will be jelly rolling, batik style, at the ONLY all batik store in Plano, Texas — Fabric Fanatics. I’m a big Moda fan too!! Have my jelly roll of Sunnyside Up and my On A Roll book because life is all about doing the jellyroll quilts!! They are just yummy!!! Allison C Bayer, Plano, Texas

  5. I’ve picked my pattern and jelly roll for tomorrow but I’m so disappointed that there’s only one shop in germany participating in your event and it’s about 500 km away. Any chance you release the patterns sometimes later for all?

  6. Our little group of 4 are getting together at my place to see our jelly rolls, our second year getting together. I’m with Dildy above. Closest participating shop is 500 km away. Possible release to those who can get there. Love everything Moda! ❤️

  7. I actually cut a jelly roll quilt out! It’s an old one from Denyse Schmidt but using a current pattern from April Rosenthal. I’m excited to sew it when all the holiday sewing is done!. I, too, live far far from a participating shop but I have this guilty immense stash. I’m working in reducing said stash before I die.
