Petit Fours & Cake…

You know we love our Layer Cakes, right?

So when I saw that I could make a cute little basket with two Layer Cake squares, some of By Annie’s Soft & Stable and thread, I was on board.

They’re called Petit Four Baskets and it’s a free pattern and tutorial from By Annie – Annie Eurein.

You can find the pattern here – By Annie’s Petit Four Baskets.

Here’s what you need to know… the first one I made took about twenty-five minutes.  The second one, less than fifteen.  I made the last two at the same time in about twenty minutes.

I’ve already cut a stack of Soft & Stable rectangles.

I will be making more.  After all, there are 42 squares in a Layer Cake!

Happy Friday!

  1. What a fun little project for the quilting group……shhhhh….don’t anybody tell!,,

  2. I always wonder what I should do with my leftover squares … now I know … thank you:-)

  3. Thank you for the pattern and tutorial. This is a great way to use extra layer cake squares.

  4. I am unable to download the free pattern. Can you give instructions as to how to get it? love this idea! thanks!

  5. I downloaded directions and the measurements are not the same as the video. My printed directions have you mark the top fabric 3 1/4″ and 2 1/4″ in from the sides. The video says 3″ and 2 1/2″. Which is correct? Thank you!

    1. Hi Lisa –

I would use the instructions on the printed pattern downloaded from the website as they are the most current. 🙂
