Let’s get ready to Jelly Roll…

It’s now just a matter of hours until we start un-rolling the Jelly and get busy sewing!

This is Vanessa Goertzen’s – Lella Boutique – When Life Gives You Scraps quilt made with Jelly Rolls – a Jelly Roll of her Olive’s Flower Market collection.  (For a link to the pattern for this quilt and others – Project: Jelly Roll.)

Tomorrow – there is only one thing you need to do.  Have fun sewing!

Okay, two things.  Having fun making something with a Jelly Roll or two!

Wait – I thought of a third thing.  SHARE!

If you’re sewing tomorrow – at a shop, with your friends or comfortably at home – please share a picture or twelve of what you’re making.  From the pattern to the fabric, we want to see it all!  Have you got great Jelly-snacks?  Post a picture!  To Facebook and/or Instagram – we’ll be checking both.

Don’t forget to use the hashtag – #projectjellyroll

We’ve got all sorts of goodies to share, including some gorgeous threads from our friends at Aurifil.  To enter, you just need to share pictures of what you’re making.

If you haven’t decided what to make, we’ve put together a list of Jelly Roll quilts from the Moda Bake Shop on the Project: Jelly Roll blog.  There may even be a giveaway going on over there… just saying.

Happy Friday and let’s get ready to Jelly Roll!

  1. LOL!!!! My eye first read:
“When life is crappy, make a quilt.” Either way, it is always a good day to make a quilt!!!!

  2. I’ll be sewing my jelly roll at The Best Little Retreat Center in Texas on Saturday with my gal pals. Full house and next to the shop Sew Let’s Quilt It!! Fun times, Allison C. Bayer, Plano, Texas

  3. I am looking forward to this. Wish I had time to set up a sewing party to do this! But I have my jelly roll, two, or three, or four, and my pattern, patterns, and now a new one thank you so much!!!

  4. Rechecked my pattern – OK read it for the first time after previously glancing at it and saying – “Cool! I wanna make that.” So tonight I am cutting. Tomorrow a.m. I will make it sew…

  5. Carrie, do you have any idea about the fabric to be developed by Moda with the Victoria and Albert museum in terms of its name or release date? Can you tell I’m looking forward to it. That fabric and Ann’s Arbor were my choices to pursue. The FQS notified me about Ann’s Arbor, and it was delivered to my mailbox just this week. But the other is just my heart’s desire and I don’t even know its name to be on any notification list for release. It’s all your fault too since you show such gorgeous fabric previews on your blog.

  6. My quilting group on Wednesday did the Jelly Roll Jog, sewing strips end to end and then joining the sides to make whatever size quilt we wanted. We decided on Halloween fabric because we had lots of it……….it began with 2 of us inspired to use our fabric and grew to 7……lots of fun for us. Wednesday was the only day of the week that we were all free. I love this Scrappy words quilt and have a copy…..thanks for that. This will be a great project to start in October. Thank you.

  7. My jelly roll sewing got postponed. First I need to finish sleep shorts for my daughter. Second, my sewing pal is one week away from her daughter’s wedding!
