  1. I enjoyed the blog and the book I am most interested in from them is modern neutrals from amys creative side. I already follow moda on the feed and fb…

  2. I’d like to see Making Quilts The Promise of Joy by Kathy Doughty, from FigTreeQuilts Blog. I have a LOT of quilt books; my favorite changes all the time. Right now I am looking at modern, but I love anything by Sandra Meech about art quilting, and I love Ellie Sienkiewicz’ books about applique.

  3. Thanks for the great giveaway. I love Transparency Quilts: 10 Modern Projects – Keys for Success in Fabric Selection – From the FunQuilts Studio. Great to see the inspiration behind these wonderful quilters.

  4. Still working through blogs but I love the fall leaf charm by Anjeanette. I love so many books- my latest fave if by Tula Pink- 100 Modern Quilt Blocks. Thanks for the chance to win!

  6. I’ve enjoyed reading about everyone’s favorite quilt books. One of my favorites is Jinny Beyer’s The Quilters Album of Patchwork Patterns. I’m a follower & like Moda on FB. Thanks for the chance to win.

  7. I have really enjoyed the book hop. This was very interesting as well as educational. The Sweet Layer Cakes and 3 Times the Charm would be the books I would like to add to my quilting library right now. But then, all of your books would be so nice to have. Thank you for the chance to win and always enjoy your blog.

    Sandi Timmons

  8. I follow your blog, like Moda on Feb, and a book that caught my eye is Sweet Sensations… A book with Moda recipes, the best kind!!!

  9. I’m not on Facebook, so am not eligible for this contest, but wanted to say thanks for hosting a hop celebrating books! I was delighted to discover that Me and My Sister have a new book coming out.

And I am a happy follower of your blog. 🙂

  10. I follow your blog and like it on FB. I saw a quilt made from your book Sweet Celebrations that I would love to make when I get the time!

  11. Ooohhh, I discovered “Modern Neutrals” by Amy Ellis. I particularly like the cover quilt. My favorite book is “Quilts Made Modern” by Weeks Ringle and Bill Kerr. I am a big fan of their designs.

  12. The book blogs were a bit too many but I did go to about 20. I saved the ones I liked best and then picked from them. I think Heather Ross Prints will be my next book. I wouldn’t have picked it up by the cover but between the blogs reviews and Amazon reviews I think it’s a keeper.

  13. Love peeking in everybody’s bookshelves! I just read about 5500 Quilt Designs at Little Miss Shabby, I’m really looking forward to Amy Ellis’ Modern Neutrals, and my two faves right now are Quilt Improv by Lucie Summers, and 25 Ways to Sew Jelly Rolls… Brioni Greenberg. I follow on FB, blogger.

  14. I don’t do Facebook, so I guess I can’t win…but I enjoyed hopping to the blogs! I love, love the Pillow book that is featured!
    (And I follow!)

  15. I actually added two books to my wish list I saw on the hop!

The first one is Scraps & Shirttails showcased at Jo’s Country Junction (Jo Kramer)

The second is It’s Okay of you sit on my quilt showcased at Modalissa (lissa Alexander), This book was actually showcased at a couple blogs too!

I visited all the blogs and tried to leave a comment on every one of them. And, I’m a facebook fan!

  16. I visited a few of the blogs… Visiting all of them would take all day. One of the books I’ve been coveting is the 5500 quilt blocks that Little Miss Shabby mentions. I think that will be my next quilty book purchase. Thanks for the giveaway chance. I hope to be back to visit more blogs in the blog tour.

  17. This was so much fun! I loved looking at the blogs and discovering what books other quilters like. Thanks! I discovered a book I definitely want: Making Quilts, the Promise of Joy by Kathy Doughty. I love the title, the photo on the cover, and the fact that it’s recommended by Joanna Figueroa, one of my favorite designers!

  18. What a great blog tour. I’m enjoying visiting all the blogs I can. The book that really got me started quilting was Quiltmaking Tips and Techniques. I still use it when I need a little help brushing up on one of my quilting skills. Have a super day!

  19. Loved the blog hop and reading about everyone’s favorite reads. There were several books that peaked my interest like Camille Roskelley’s Simplify and Simply Retro but the one that stood out the most to me was Quilting by Hand by Jinny Beyer on Pat Sloan’s blog because I’m obsessed with handwork.

  20. The upcoming release from Me and My Sister Designs–Simple Quilts sounds like fun. I love my copy of BH&G Complete Guide to Quilting.

  21. I have dozens of quilting books, and most of them are typical of the old-fashioned and Amish quilt style, and was surprised to find that I already have many of the favorites listed by the bloggers. In fact, I have every book listed by Rosebud Cottage! One that I don’t think I have in my collection is “The Garden Quilt” featured by Barbara Brachman. I love flowers and gardening, and this would combine two of my favorite activities.

  22. I’d like to check out Sweet Celebations and a couple of Edyta Sitar’s books sometime soon. My current favorites are Bonnie Hunter’s books from which I am making 3 quilts as ongoing projects this year!

  23. Scraps and Shirttales by Bonnie K. Hunter is one I’d love to peruse as it seems great for using scraps. Also, The Romance of the Patchwork Quilt in America on Barbara Brackman’s blog seems very inspiring.

  24. I follow your blog. Like Angela and Sherri, my first and favorite quilt book is by Eleanor Burns, Irish Chain. Her books are easy to follow for a beginner. The book I would like to add to my collection is Beginner’s Guide to Free Motion Quilting by Natalia Bonner. I recently purchased the floating free motion foot for my machine, and would love some guidance! Thanks for the fun blog hop and give away!

  25. I already follow your blog because you are awesome! The books that got me quilting were Jennifer Chiaverini’s Elm Creek Quilts series. She made quilting sound so wonderful that I just had to learn how to do it!

  26. I became intrigued by quilting when my aunt made a quilt for my son when he was born. I bought The Quilter’s Complete Guide by Marianne Fons and Liz Porter as my first book, now I have a whole library. I would like to check out Camille Roskelley’s books after reading some of the blogs as well as The It’s Okay If You Sit On My Quilt Book by Mary Ellen Hopkins.

  27. My favorite and most used book has been “More Lap Quilting with Georgia Bonesteel” and two books that I saw in the blog roll were “Simple Quilts from Me and My Sister Designs” and “Stitch Zakka”.

  28. My very first quilt book was by Eleanor Burns – quilt in a day Irish Chain. I don’t have a current favourite…my favourite Sunday morning thing to do is to get an armful from my bookshelf and a pot of black tea and spend a couple of hours browsing. 😉 Books I long to have? Kaffe Fassette at the moment.

  29. Better Homes and Gardens – Complete Guide To Quilting! I watched a lot of Quilt in a Day with Eleanor Burns! I learned a lot from her shows. I learned to strip piece with Eleanor’s Still Stripping. Stitch Zakka would be a fun new one to have but I love all books. Read them, do the projects, and donate them to my local little library! I hope others do that too! Many others, myself included could not afford to buy quilting books and a local library makes it possible for us to see the latest and greatest and do the projects! Thank you for the wonderful blog hop! I have really enjoyed it!

  30. I have hundreds of quilt books, but especially like Gwen Marston’s Liberated Quilts, and also Ami Simms’ book on I-Spy quilts. I’d love to add these 6 to my collection! I have looked at the sites, followed your blog, liked you on Facebook, and made my comment.

  31. I have found the book ‘Quilting Modern”, and I just ordered it from B&N, this book looks awesome! Thanks for the awesome generous giveaway! I already like Moda on FaceBook and follow their blog also and all the above!

  32. I love Pam and Nicky Lintott’s books, “Jelly Roll Inspirations,” and “Layer Cake, Jelly Roll and Charm Quilts.” Would love to visit their shop one day.

  33. I was really interested to read Kimberly’s book recommendation (Fat Qtr Shop). She recommends a quilter that I am not familiar with- Billie Lauder. I’m definitely going to look into her books. If they were that influential for Kimberly, I’m sure they are great.

  34. Thank you so much for celebrating Book Lover’s Day!!! Thoroughly enjoyed the blog hop. A Month of Sundays is a quilt book I have not seen. Have put it on my list to look for it in the shops. Happy Friday!

  35. I started following you (Paula Whelan), liked you on Facebook (MPaula Whelan) and I like one of HootnHaller’s favourite books, Quilting Modern. I also love the quilt she showed, Supervova.
My favourite quilting book is one given to me by a client when I was working as a Massage Therapist, The Weekend Quilt by Leslie Linsley. She found out I quilted because I would use a quilt during treatment if she needed it.
I love posts like this where I am introduced to so many other quilters, their ideas and their fabric choices. However, my inbox usually takes a hit as I sign up for MORE email.

  36. The book I am really liking right now is Scrap Basket Beauties by Kim Brackett. I really enjoyed everyone else’s favorite books.

  37. I have been inspired by Barbara Brackman and so I jumped to her site and found her book, that I know I will love “The Romance of the Patchwork Quilt in America. Thanks for a great opportunity to discover new and exciting books on quilting!

  38. What fun going to the various websites and seeing a lot of books that I learned how to quilt with. Put a smile on my face for sure. Amy Ellis’ books are always great and Modern Basics II looks like another winner.

  39. Oh wow……that was fun looking & reading all the blogs! I am now a follower of your blog. I have my long Christmas list made out of all the books I feel I really really need! My family loves it when I give them a list. It’s a win-win. Thank you for this fun blog hop. And thanks for the chance to win some fabulous books.

  40. Ohhh… love this blog!! 🙂 thanks!!! I found a great book on craftytammie… bend the rules sewing. Sounds like my type of book!
Have a great weekend and happy creating!!!
    ~Christina in Cleveland

  41. I am reading all the blog posts. I think I would like Simply Retro by Camille Roskelley. I love all things retro and vintage! I already follow you on bloglovin and fb xxxxx

  42. Thanks for the blog hop! I have Camille’s first book and would enjoy her second one Simple Retro! I follow via RSS feed.

  43. How fun it was to go through the blogs & find out what book led to quilting & what they are into now.
I learned the most & best information on the HGTV show-Simply Quilts with Alex Anderson. This program introduced me to so many quilt artists. I was learning so much! The quilt guests demonstrated their techniques, patterns and insights, tricks & skills.
I took it all in and started on this quiltingadventure.
Quick Quilt Tricks and More Quick Tricks, both by Billie Lauder, and the All-in-One Quilter’s Reference Tool. Harriet Hargrave, Paper piecing-Carol Doak,, Eleanor Burns Quilt in a Day” series, Winning Hand Quilt. I eventually taught those who wanted to learn quilting basics from Winning Hand! Now I’m into Tula Pink’s book City Sampler.

  44. This was dangerous!! I liked the “Quilting Modern” on Hoot’n Haller. I also liked ” Modern Neutrals” on Amy’s Creative Side. I already own “Seamingly Scrappy” from Rebecca Silbaugh(Ruby Blue Quilting Studio).
I follow the blog and like you on Facebook!

  45. What a super fun blog tour. So many wonderful books and many new to me. I’d really like to check out Ho Ho Ho Let It Snow. Maybe it is our current Hot August Nights, but I’m getting excited about working on Christmas gifts and decorations.

Bless the book authors and publishers for sharing so many inspirational ideas with us. Quilters can never have too many good quilting books!

  46. After reading “A quilting Life’s” blog, I really would like to get a hold of “Simply Retro with Camille Roskelley: Fresh Quilts from Classic Blocks” Looks right up my alley.

  47. I read all the blogs on the tour and several mentioned Camille R.’s book, ‘Simply Retro.’ I think I will have to buy this book. I follow her blog and love her style. Thanks for the fun blog tour and hope I win the 6 books you are giving away.
